Come the rains come insects

After flying the drones on a night where we battled with bucketloads of mosquitos and beetles flying in our facial orifices and in between my glasses and eyes, I reflect now on the positive side of insects…

Insects play such an important role in our ecosystems primarily with pollinating plants, propagating their seeds, waste disposal and also population control via spread of diseases.

Here we see a tiny bee in action pollinating this beautiful little flower smaller than my fingernail. The plant attracts the bee with the brightly coloured flower, says thanks by giving the bee nectar for its honey and in return the bee takes the pollen and helps the future generations of that plant.
